Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party Distances Itself from Kharge’s Remark on PM Modi
Political tensions have intensified following a controversial remark by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kharge made the statement while addressing an event in Patna, Bihar, on Sunday, October 25. The Samajwadi Party has now clarified its position on the controversy.
Ram Gopal Yadav, national general secretary of the Samajwadi Party and uncle of party chief Akhilesh Yadav, said he disagreed with Kharge’s remarks. He stressed that political leaders must exercise restraint in their language and that such statements are unacceptable in politics.
‘Such Language Is Not Acceptable in Politics’
When asked about Kharge’s statement, Ram Gopal Yadav said that such language should not be used when referring to the Prime Minister’s father. He warned that if political leaders continued using such language, the political atmosphere could deteriorate further.
He also questioned what example senior leaders would set for younger politicians if they used such remarks. His comments are being viewed as a sign that the Samajwadi Party is distancing itself from Congress on this particular issue.
What Did Mallikarjun Kharge Say?
At an event in Patna, Bihar, Kharge made a controversial remark about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, “Modi, and even Modi’s father, will one day lose power.”
The statement triggered a political controversy, with the BJP strongly criticising Kharge. Protests against the Congress president were reported in several states.
The controversy has further intensified the political confrontation between the BJP and Congress, while the Samajwadi Party’s response has added another dimension to the debate over political language and public discourse.
