Following the impressive debut of Jio Platforms in the Indian stock market, Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani has shared the story behind the company’s success. According to Anant, Jio is not merely a name but a symbol of the love, trust and blessings of millions of Indians.
Highlighting several examples, he explained how internet connectivity has transformed the lives of millions of people across the country.
Anant Ambani said that Jio’s journey is not simply a story of business success. It is also closely connected with students’ education, family relationships, the rise of new talent and the larger mission of connecting people across every corner of India.
Recalling the difficult days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when normal life across the world came to a standstill, Anant highlighted the important role played by internet connectivity.
At a time when schools and colleges were closed, internet services helped millions of students continue their education. Digital connectivity enabled children to attend classes and pursue their studies from the safety of their homes.
According to Anant, digital connectivity also helped families living far away from one another remain emotionally connected.
For example, a mother whose son had moved from a village to a city for work could still see his face and speak to him through video calls. Despite the physical distance, technology helped families maintain their emotional bonds.
Anant Ambani also shared an interesting example of people learning how to cook through video calls.
He explained that many people learned cooking from their family members through video conversations. In some cases, mothers could even check the colour of a curry on a video call and tell their children whether the dish had been prepared properly.
Digital connectivity has also made it possible for people to experience religious and spiritual places from the comfort of their homes.
He further highlighted how digital platforms have created new opportunities for emerging talent.
According to Anant, even a young woman from a small town can now use just a smartphone to showcase her talent to millions of people. Through social media platforms, many ordinary individuals have built their identities as influencers and content creators.
He said that digital connectivity has opened the doors to new opportunities and possibilities for ordinary citizens.
Even soldiers deployed along India’s borders are benefiting from digital connectivity. A soldier protecting the country thousands of kilometres away from home can speak to his family through video calls and reassure them that he is safe.
According to Anant, digital connectivity through platforms like Jio has played an important role in reducing the distance between people.
He emphasised that Jio is not just a brand but something deeply connected to the hearts of every Indian.
Anant Ambani also expressed his gratitude to Jio’s 530 million customers across the country for placing their trust in the company.
He said that Jio’s achievements have been possible because of the support, affection and confidence of the people of India.
Speaking about his relationship with his sister Isha Ambani and brother Akash Ambani, Anant said that their common goal is to work towards fulfilling people’s dreams.
He also highlighted that the foundation of Reliance remains deeply connected with India.
Anant acknowledged the blessings of his grandfather, the guidance of his father, and the values, care and affection of his mother as important sources of inspiration in his journey.
He also recognised the contributions of engineers, technology professionals, service workers and all other employees who are part of the Jio family.
According to him, their dedication and hard work have made the company’s success possible. He dedicated the day to all the employees whose efforts have helped Jio reach this milestone.
