The investigation diary of the former minister Naba Das’s murder case has reopened. Earlier, the Vigilance team had summoned Naba Das’s family members for questioning in connection with this high-profile murder case. Now, the Income Tax Department has taken Naba Das’s son, Vishal Das, into custody. The IT team is interrogating Vishal.

A special Income Tax team flew Vishal in from distant Kolkata and is questioning him from morning till evening at the Bhubaneswar Income Tax office. After initial interrogation, the team took Vishal to Jharsuguda for further investigation. The IT Department has been investigating this case intensively for the past three days.

Search and seizure operations are ongoing at various properties belonging to the late Naba Das. While IT officials were previously unable to trace Vishal despite searching various locations, they have now intensified raids across Naba Das’s properties in Delhi, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh.
In Jharsuguda, IT raids have been ongoing at the residential premises for two consecutive days, involving a team of 10 officers. Meanwhile, in Sambalpur, the raids are being conducted at multiple properties including the old residence at Modipada, Hotel Mandarin, and a bar located in Bhalupali.

These raids began at 5 AM on Thursday and are still ongoing. Simultaneously, searches are being conducted at a collaborator’s house in Sundargarh. The IT department is also investigating alleged tax evasion in coal transportation operations linked to Naba Das’s business associate Sanjay Nanda. Sanjay Nanda’s offices on Mission Road are under search.
Reliable sources say the raids are based on serious allegations of disproportionate assets. The Income Tax Department is examining transportation business documents in detail. Just a few months ago, Sanjay’s office was raided, and now, this sudden raid raises new questions.
It is alleged that Sanjay is linked with benami companies connected to Naba Das’s son. All these developments may soon reveal the truth about the late minister’s hidden affairs. As Vishal Das is now in IT custody, his interrogation is expected to uncover critical information.
The biggest question remains—who was the real mastermind behind the gruesome Jharsuguda murder case? Who killed Naba Das, and why? The IT team is interrogating Vishal on these multiple aspects.
However, some political circles are debating whether the police, despite knowing the real mastermind, are intentionally targeting Naba Das’s family. Still, there is a saying—no matter how late, a thief’s house can never stay in the dark forever. One day, the real mastermind and killer will be exposed.
And that day, the criminal will be dragged through the streets and locked up in police custody. That is the strong sentiment circulating in political circles now. For ages, truth and justice have always prevailed—and they will again. The public believes that time will soon reveal who the real mastermind and killer truly is.
