Tigiria -: In the ongoing 4th Gadadharapur Premier League held at the playground of Gadadharapur High School under Gadadharapur Panchayat in Tigiria block, two league matches were played today. Kapileswar Rockstar defeated Jai Shriram Team by 2 runs, while Bajrangi Star beat Jagadish Warriors by 4 wickets.
In the fourth league match held in the morning, Kapileswar Rockstar won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 83 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 12 overs. In reply, Jai Shriram Team could manage only 81 runs in the given overs, falling short by 2 runs.
In this match, Muna Barik of Kapileswar Rockstar played a key role in the team’s victory by scoring an unbeaten 24 runs and taking 2 wickets. He was awarded Man of the Match, which was presented by chief guest Gajendra Dalei.
In the fifth league match held in the afternoon, Jagadish Warriors batted first and scored 88 runs losing 9 wickets in 12 overs. In reply, Bajrangi Star chased the target in just 10 overs, losing 6 wickets.
From the Bajrangi Star side, Anil Kumar Parida claimed 3 wickets and scored 14 runs. He was awarded Man of the Match, which was presented by Surjya Mani Raut, a former player of the local Maa Bhawani Sports Club, who attended the match as the chief guest.
