
Tigiria -: A block-level Subhadra Shakti traditional food competition was held today in the premises of the Tigiria Block Office. This event was organized by the Block Office under the direction of the State Government’s Mission Shakti Department. The chief guest at the event was Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Sandhyarani Nayak.
Distinguished guests included District Council Members Sasmita Raut and Sanjay Kumar Mallik, MP Representative Suryakanta Dhal, and Block Mission Shakti Chairperson Samasura Begum.

In this program, women from 24 different Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the block participated and prepared a variety of traditional foods. Judges included Tahsildar Akshay Kumar Parida, BDO Manashwini Das, and CDPO Binapani Das. Along with the other guests, they visited the food stalls, tasted the dishes, and interacted with the participants.
The judges and guests congratulated all the SHG members for their excellent preparation of traditional food items. In the competition, Ma Ramchandi-2 SHG from Shalijanga village under Badanaupada Panchayat secured first place, while Shanischar SHG from Nijigarh Panchayat secured second place.
Members of both SHGs were awarded by the guests and judges. Certificates were also distributed to all participating SHG members. The first and second place winners were nominated to represent the block in the upcoming district-level competition.
Among others, BPM Pradeep Kumar Singh, BPC Tapan Kumar Mahanti, BPA Bishnupriya Sahoo, other block staff, various panchayat representatives, and local residents were present and contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
