- Even when he was Chief Minister, Naveen didn’t care
- Dillip, Naveen’s elder brother, lives in helpless condition
- Naveen didn’t listen, will Mohan Babu listen?
CUTTACK : Dillip Pattnaik, brother of Naveen Pattnaik, has applied for an old-age pension. Dillip is the son of Biju Babu (Biju Pattnaik), meaning he is the son of George Pattnaik, who is the elder brother of Naveen’s father. Despite Naveen being the Chief Minister, Dillip tried many times to meet him but failed. In fact, he had gone to the Chief Minister’s grievance cell and begged for help.
Ironically, even though his younger brother held the highest position in the state, Naveen never looked back at his elder brother Dillip. After repeatedly applying for a pension and getting rejected, Dillip has once again applied for an old-age pension.
Now, the Chief Minister of Odisha has changed. Naveen has moved to the opposition bench, and BJP has taken over the government. Mohan Majhi is the new Chief Minister. Dillip now hopes that CM Mohan Majhi will definitely help him.
He has stated that although his own brother, while in power, never asked about his condition, he believes Mohan Babu will at least listen to his pain.
As per sources, Dillip has applied under the State’s Madhubabu Pension Yojana and the Central Government’s Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, presenting himself as a helpless elderly man.
At 76 years old, Dillip is now in a difficult condition. Former Cuttack-Barabati MLA Mohammed Moquim visited Dillip and provided him financial help. Various social organizations have also met Dillip and expressed their sympathy.
Sources say Biju Pattnaik, George Pattnaik, and Shree Jayaanand Pattnaik were three brothers. The family property in Anand Bhavan, Cuttack, has since been divided. In George Pattnaik’s portion, his son Dillip and daughter Rekha currently reside. Both are physically unwell.
Dillip, who met with an accident, is no longer able to walk properly. Despite being unwell for years, Dillip claims Naveen never once inquired about his condition. Now, he hopes that the new Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will understand his suffering and provide help.
What happens next remains to be seen.
