New Delhi -: The central government is planning to introduce a new rule for air conditioners (ACs), under which the temperature settings will be standardized. This move aims to help conserve energy.
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, shared information about this initiative, stating that the government is considering fixing the standard temperature range for ACs between 20°C and 28°C. Initially, this will be implemented as a pilot project. He mentioned that this will be the first-of-its-kind initiative of its nature.
According to the plan, AC temperatures will be set to remain between 20°C (minimum) and 28°C (maximum). That means the temperature setting of an AC will not go below 20 degrees or rise above 28 degrees Celsius.
If this plan succeeds, it will help individuals save electricity and reduce their electricity bills. On a broader scale, it will contribute to national energy conservation and reduce the load on the power grid. Let me know if you’d like this shortened into a news headline or summary format.
